Children with good mental health are more positive, engaged in school and can achieve better academically. Research has shown that one in eight 5-19 year olds now have a diagnosable mental health illness (Mental Health of Children in England, 2017, NHS Digital).
Physical activity can play a key role in building strong mental health and teachers and support staff are in a prime position to help. This FREE virtual 1.5 hour course will highlight the impact and importance of physical activity on the wellbeing of primary pupils. It will help you incorporate movement when working with young people whose mental health could be improved and give you the confidence to have positive conversations around the importance of being more active.
Target Audience: Primary school staff leading on wellbeing within their schools including: ELSA’s, School Nurses, Emotional Wellbeing Leads, Inclusion Leads, Mental Health Leads, Home School Link Workers
