Led Half Primary: Exploring Opposing Forces (HAUXTON)

Saturday, 10 March '18   9am - 10:30am
The Studio, next door to 5 Church Road, Hauxton, Cambs CB22 5HS

This will be a led class through the Half Primary Series (i.e. up to Navasana or Boat Pose) of Ashtanga Yoga, exploring the concept of opposing forces.

There’s no doubt that Ashtanga Yoga is a very physical, dynamic practice, which is part of its appeal for many practitioners. However, it is not a workout. There are many things that differentiate it from a workout, one of them being the concept of balancing effort and ease. This can be applied to many different aspects of the practice: The breath should be neither too shallow, nor too forced. Asanas should be neither too relaxed, nor too rigid. The attitude towards practice should be one of discipline and commitment, but if it becomes too “obsessive” it can take the joy and fun out of the practice and inhibit real progress…

The Studio, next door to 5 Church Road, Hauxton, Cambs CB22 5HS

The Studio is in the village of Hauxton, which is about 5 miles south of Cambridge. It's easily accessible from the M11 (1 mile from J11), just off the A10 between Trumpington and Harston.

Look for 5 Church Road - you'll see a gym next door, and The Studio is behind the gym. So come in via the side entrance to the right of the gym, and walk straight down the hallway to find The Studio.
