Switchback Wall Hanging or Lap Quilt

Saturday July 13 from 10am-4pm (with lunch break)

This all day workshop features skill building for beginners as well as tips and tricks for experienced quilt makers. This includes basic color selection, rotary cutting, using rulers, and basic patchwork skills. Fun modern quilt great for beginners and experienced quilt makers. Postcard pattern included in class fee.

For beginners that can sew a straight line and thread their sewing machine or those want to make a fun quilt.

$90 for 6 hour workshop (includes pattern)

Additional supplies required:
We will be picking out fabric during the workshop.*
Feel free to bring fabric from home, but you may want to supplement.
For the quilt top:
Baby size requires 12-1/4 yards.
Lap size requires 20-1/4 yards.

Notions required:
Rotary Cutter and mat
Patchwork Pins (extra fine)
Ruler 6” X 24”
Seam ripper
Small scissors
90/14 machine quilting needles and 75/11 universal machine needles.
¼” Foot for your machine (recommended)
Marking Tool (Sewline pencil black and white recommended)

Please be sure you have a working sewing machine that has been used within the last 3 months. If you are unsure about your machine, you can borrow on or ours. Please reach out to infobeehivecraftstudio@gmail.com if you need to borrow a machine for class.

Teacher: JoAnna Johnson
JoAnna has been teaching quilt making over 20 years starting in her own quilt shop and later in Austin for the last 8 years. She received an MFA in Fiber Arts from Southern Illinois University. Her quilts have been published in books and traveled in exhibitions across the world. She loves helping students beginning and advanced develop their skills. Quilting brings her great joy and she wants to share that with her students.

CLASS POLICIES
o Your spot will not be reserved in the class until payment is made in full.
o All students or their Parents/Guardians must sign a waiver before participating in class activities. This should be provided as a check box in your checkout process.
o This class has a 3 person minimum. Class may be cancelled if minimum is not met 48 hours prior to class.
o Beehive Craft Studio reserves the right to cancel a class at any time.
If we do so, you'll be issued a full refund.
o Inclement Weather Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that weather would make traveling to class dangerous. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o COVID Policy: We reserve the right to cancel class if we deem that health conditions would make attending class dangerous for teachers and students. Every attempt will be made to schedule a makeup for the missed class.

o Mask Policy: All students are strongly encouraged to wear masks during workshop time if there is a student or teacher requesting masks.

o No refunds for no-shows or cancellations within 48 hours of workshop. Refunds will be processed online within 48 hours of cancellation with the funds going back to your method of payment.
o Everyone works at different speeds and while we expect everyone to finish by the end of the workshop we can't guarantee it!
