A 4 week flexibility course with Isaac Lucksted

Octobers focus: Bridge

In October Isaac will be focusing on getting you bridging safely and effectively by opening the anterior chain and strengthening the posterior chain.

The aim of this course will be to provide you with the tools that you need to be able to either apply to your bridge and improve it or to set you on the path of safe and good bridging.

This will be done by:

  • Increasing flexibility in the legs, hips, upper back, shoulders and wrists.
  • Improving shoulder, glute and upper back strength

The bridge is a transferable skill and can be applied to handbalancing, acrobatics, yoga, crossfit etc

Week 1
-Explaining the bridge
-Explaining stretching concepts
-Quad and hip flexor flexibility
-Glute strengthening

Week 2
-Upper back stretching and strengthening

Week 3
-Shoulder flexibility
-External rotators strengthening
-Wrist flexibility

Week 4
-Applying all previous weeks to the bridge
-Personal work on the weakest links of individuals’ bridges

About Isaac:
Isaac started training as an adult and quickly gravitated towards the concepts and methods surrounding getting more flexible. After realising how a lot of the general stretching recommendations didn’t work he started to explore the most potent methods for increasing flexibility and how I could apply them to his practice. This resulted in greatly improving his ability to handstand and Olympic lift, as well as giving him the ability to feel free in my movement.
Mentorship plays a large role in any physical practice, as a current student of Emmet Louis, Isaac understands the importance in having someone to guide you through the seemingly complex and daunting process of gaining flexibility.

His current goal is to transfer this knowledge to other adults who want to gain flexibility, access ranges of motion that they didn’t think possible and to allow people to come away with a sense of appreciation and amazement at the capabilities of their own bodies.
