This informative, hands-on workshop will reveal the simple strategies of oil painting, from setting up your underpainting, blocking in colour, to layering colour with transparent glazes, and final touches. This is an effective and quick way of realising your image.
Essential composition considerations of chiariscuro, colour, and tempo will be discussed alongside thematic development to achieve a happy result.
Some materials will be provided, however please also bring:
• a palette and palette knife
• notebook and pen
• some rags (old shirts, sheeting, etc.)
• a selection of your own brushes and colours you prefer
