This exciting, fast-paced course offers a completely unique approach to methods of painterly application.
Beginning with observational drawing, students will develop towards the abstract, continually negotiating new and unfamiliar territory. You will be guided and encouraged in the painterly approach of deconstruction, from layering and removal to pictorial re-building and subsequent clarification.
Additionally, we will look at historical examples of paintings, so as to illustrate how composition and narrative can inform contemporary painting practice.
The course is suited to students of all levels of experience.
Students will take home a completed work.
