A weekend drawing workshop aimed at giving both beginners and more advanced painters a structured grounding in how to work with tone.
When drawing or painting, it is vital to have an understanding of how to tonal relationships within your composition(s) affect the finished work. Whether you are working with representational or abstract subjects. Tonal explorations are essential in helping you define and represent your chosen subject(s). Whether you are dealing with light, movement, contrast, form, or wanting to imbue your drawing or painting with a sense of atmosphere or drama, tone plays an important role.
Day 1 topics: the basics: tints and tones (mixing and application)
Day 2 topics: building an image with tonal studies (underpainting techniques)
