Willow Workshop - Plant Supports and Living Willow Structures

Create your own decorative plant supports from willow, plus learn how to make living willow structures for your garden.

The aim of this workshop is to

  • teach you how to make a plant support to take home with you
  • show you the techniques needed to create living structures, like hedges, domes, tunnels
  • give you the confidence to create structures in your own garden
  • show you how to make a willow heart to take home with you (just in time for Valentine's Day).

This is a hands-on practical course led by Elanor Smallcombe of Tyddyn Bryn and Liz Zorab.

If you don't currently have willow in your garden, or you'd like more, there will be the opportunity to buy willow cuttings (of different colours) to grow at home.

Level: Beginner

Please bring a packed lunch with you. Hot and cold drinks will be available.
The ground is uneven and steep in places.
We recommend that you bring an additional warm layer and waterproof clothing and flat boots or shoes. When it's wet, the ground can be very soggy.
You may be required to use a foot dip to ensure good biosecurity on the farm.
Although designed as an outside activity, there are under cover options should the weather be very inclement.
Dogs, cats and other animals may not be brought to the site (except guide or support dogs).
Exact location will be supplied upon booking.
