This is a spread out version of my absolute beginners class. It will run over 3 sessions of 2 hours each instead of the 5 hour adult class. This way parents and kids get to learn to sew but don't have to concentrate for too long or give up a whole weekend day! Suitable for children 8+ but you can use your discretion, if your child is very fidgety or isn't good at listening to instructions they may be too young, if they are eager to learn and will be happy and safe but are only 7, then by all means book em on.
You will learn all about fabrics, stitches, threading up, what threads to use, how to wind bobbins, how to measure and cut fabric, all about seam allowances and making sharp corners as well as lots of hints and tips along the way. You will make a simple envelope closure cushion cover to take home. If the class is succesfull we can always organise some more sessions to make some other fun projects
6 hour class, £75 for parent and child together, £100 for parent with two kids. All classes need to be booked and paid for in advance, it's not a drop in, refunds can't be given for individual missed sessions.
I'll provide a drink and a biscuit for the kids and tea and coffee (anf a bsicuit if you want!) for the adults, please let me know if your child is allergic to anything.
All materials included. No need to bring a machine as there's plenty of them here (but you can if you want!)
