Creative, immersive and fun after-school French workshops for bilingual children.
Des Ateliers ludiques et éducatifs tout en français
Is your child bilingual? Would you like them to develop their confidence and fluency through carefully designed activities where learning happens through play?
At Les Petits Ateliers, we aim to make your children bicultural as well as bilingual. This means that we seek to equip them with the language of childhood, of imagination and fairy tales, childhood songs and playground games, "Carambar" jokes and other childhood staples they cannot get from living in the UK.
Our exclusive curriculum is put together by our director, Florence, who has taught foreign languages for 15 years and is a qualified teacher. Themes change every few weeks to ensure progression, motivation and renewed interest.
This class is for children in Year 4 - 6 and who are both fluent in French and confident readers (in English). There will be some more formal learning, including reading and writing, which will always be presented through child-led or play-based activities.
Each Atelier will give the children plenty of opportunities for oral practice. They will also feature stories, crafts, songs, poems, debating, joke-telling and (simple!) science experiments, to name but a few of the incredibly exciting things our 'têtes blondes' have been up to so far.
Please note: this class is suitable only for students who understand and communicate fluently in French.
Your children will look forward to their weekly 'French playdate' with their new francophone friends!
Small classes - spaces limited.
You will need to download Zoom and create a profile to join this activity's live stream.
An adult will need to be present/in the same room as the child at all times.
