A day for Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals working with children and young people who have both SEMH and SLCN. The aim of the course is to ensure practitioners have a clear understanding of issues and implications in order to deliver effective, evidence-based practice.
Developing a clear understanding of the implications of SEMH plus SLCN is relevant to every speech and language therapist working with children and young people. Having an understanding of how to help children and young people develop skills to manage their emotions, and improve social problem solving is of universal relevance. This masterclass is the place for everyone to start their CPD journey, with progression options available for those seeking to develop their practice further.
Melanie Cross is a Consultant Speech and Language Therapist who works with children and young people who have SLCN and SEMH and Looked After Children. She is a co-author of Language for Behaviour and Emotions ( in press) and she is a Video Interaction Guider and Supervisor.
The day includes certification for CPD purposes and information to disseminate amongst your colleagues
