Walk Better, Feel Better (0901)

Saturday, 29 October '22   4pm – 5pm BST
Peppard Lane, Henley-on-Thames, RG9 1LY
10 spaces available

Details

PLEASE NOTE: This walk was originally scheduled for 25th October.

Improve how you walk, reduce joint strain, work on your balance, strength and coordination with some simple postural adjustments and isolated movements.

You will relearn how to walk in a way that uses your feet and hips more and your knees less.

The aim is to make walking not only more beneficial for our health as we call upon our most underused muscles but more enjoyable too. When we walk in alignment with a spring in our step, we feel lighter and more upright, which in turns makes us feel happier and more confident.

We will walk down an alleyway, followed by a steep hill, through a second kissing gate and around Harpsden Field, in an area of natural outstanding beauty. We will walk back up so you will have a mix of inclines, with extra tips on how to manage them.

Please wear comfortable shoes, ideally with a wide toe box, thin and flexible sole, attached upper and heel no higher than the toe box, to allow maximum movement. You're welcome to do all or part of this walk barefoot!
