Details

Join us for a ‘Slow Ways’ hike across the Chilterns from Wallingford to Henley. The ‘Slow Ways’ project aims to create a national network of walking routes connecting thousands of towns, cities, and villages throughout Britain. Come and be part of it for a day!

There has been a route across the Chilterns between Wallingford and Henley since at least Roman times, and possibly earlier. On this Slow Ways hike we will discover parts of these historic routes, while at the same time contribute to a new network of ways. This is a linear walk with a steady climb up from Wallingford to a high point at Nuffield and an 'undulating' descent into Henley. There is a regular bus service - X38 River Rapids - between our start and finish towns.
