Learning to tree climb is one of the most physically demanding units, a good power to weight ratio and head for heights is essential. There is more legislation to learn relating to working at height and learning about the equipment being used. Aerial Rescue involves bringing a casualty out of the tree or off of a pole safely, the pole is carried out wearing climbing spurs/spikes. Assessment is independant for this unit.
Niveau: All Levels
For this unit you will need a tree climbing harness, two 35m tree climbing ropes, 4 Prusik loops, 4 triple action self locking Karabiners, boots with ankle support, a suitable helmet with chin strap (ideally a helmet with harness style chin strap) as per the specifications in the kit list below and a set of climbing spikes. However, if you would like to hire Climbing Equipment (a harness, ropes, karabiners, prusik loops and spikes) for a small fee, please select the options below.
