Contemporary drawing practice is full of infinite possibility, experimentation and play. It actively seeks the exploration of a multitude of different media and methods of application which can be challenging and exciting and encourages us to take the path less travelled in our art-making.
Fundamentally an expressive drawing course, Ignite will provide a more process-driven and ideas-based approach to making your marks. As a class, you’ll enjoy a wide range of hands-on creative drawing tasks and activities. You can use the weekly investigations into a selection of experimental drawing techniques to help push your own practice in new and exciting directions.
The final few sessions are dedicated to working on a self-directed project that provides the opportunity to develop a work or series of works based on your own reflections and thoughts from the previous lessons.
This course is suitable for both beginners and those wanting to invigorate a current arts practice. It emphasises creative thinking, posing questions that inspire new and innovative visual solutions. So, if you’re stuck in a rut, or seeking motivation and less conventional, non-traditional means of visually expressing yourself, then this open-ended, mixed media course could be for you.

"As a beginner artmaker, it’s been seamless to attend an art class without feeling like a fish out of water. Zoë’s teaching style is enormously helpful in exploring artistic expression." Summer School student 2022
