Detaljer

Demons Land: A Poem Come True is a collaborative artistic project inspired by Edmund Spenser’s The Faerie Queene. Led by Professor Simon Palfrey and a creative team including art-winning artist Tom de Freston, Demons Land is a multi-media art installation in which a great poem is brought eerily to life.

Its film, soundscapes, paintings and sculptures offer a dark allegory of colonialism, past and present, exploring art’s complicity in the dreams and crimes of empire. Demons Land is the underbelly of our heritage.

Join the team behind Demons Land to discuss this Public Engagement with Research project, funded by the AHRC and TORCH, and explore the challenges of placing contemporary interventions within eighteenth-century spaces.

This is the penultimate Heritage Pathway event of the academic year.
