Due to government guidelines, the seating on the Rutland Belle has to be zoned in groups, rather than individuals. Therefore tickets are available to purchase per zoned group. If your booking is for one person, you will need to select a group zone for 2 people. The capacity on the cruise has been reduced to ensure your safety and to follow social distancing regulations. All passengers must wear a face mask and hand sanitiser will be available.
The cost of the cruise is per group rather than per person and regardless of the groups age ranges.
One of the most exciting ways of seeing Ospreys at Rutland Water is to take a guided trip aboard the Rutland Belle. We sail to parts of the reservoir where we stand a very good chance of seeing ospreys flying by and fishing, and lots of other gems that Rutland Water has to offer including Little Egret, Great Crested Grebe, Red Kite, Buzzard, Common Tern and occasionally Barn Owls and Grey Wagtails.
This cruise will begin at Whitwell Harbour (LE15 8BL), where the Rutland Belle sets sail for an hour and a half cruise on Rutland Water. There will be a live commentary pointing out things of interest, and providing information about the osprey project and the reservoir. A member of the osprey team will be on board to help you get the best out of your trip.
Light refreshments will be available on board served within social distancing guidelines
Please bring your own face mask and your binoculars.
In addition to your cruise place you will also receive a 20% discount on the permit entry price to the nature reserve on the day of the cruise. Nature reserve permits cover the Egleton (LE15 8BT) and Lyndon (LE15 8RN) sites of Rutland Water. The permit includes parking at the reserve.
All parking costs at Whitwell are covered by your cruise booking – we will issue tickets on the cruise for use at the exit barrier at Whitwell car park.
