Meet your instructors:
Salle Webber received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hampton University in Virginia. She currently resides in the redwood forest near Santa Cruz, California. Her three children and their families, including six grandchildren, all live nearby.
Salle has been serving postpartum families in Santa Cruz County since 1988, and has been a teacher of doulas since 2001. Out of this work was born her book, The Gentle Art of Newborn Family Care, a Guide for Postpartum Doulas and Caregivers.
Salle’s diverse interests and life experiences have evolved into a deep respect for the unfolding of new life, and attention to the delicate transition each family member goes through. Using a model of informed and compassionate responsiveness, maintaining a calm and flexible presence, she employs wisdom and humor in her work and teaching. Join us as we strive to make the world a gentler place, one family at a time.

Katie DaMota, IBCLC, MAS
Katie holds a master's degree in Maternal and Child Nutrition from UC Davis and she is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has been supporting families as a postpartum doula for over 10 years specializing in working with families of multiples, breastfeeding issues and single parenting. Her passion to support families and other professionals alike led her to found the Nest Family Resource in 2013. In the past 4 years her focus primarily shifted to creating a sustainable community resource center that supports families from pregnancy through parenting. A deep felt passion to bring education and evidence based information to families continues to drive her work. It is an honor and a gift to work with families during such an intimate and sweet time in their journey.
