Join hundreds of people across Carlisle for a thrilling Halloween mass dance inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic Thriller. Learn the choreography, rehearse with us, dress up if you wish, and become part of a huge city-centre performance on 31 October 2026.
Instructions
BIG THRILL is Dance Ahead CIC’s Halloween mass-participation dance event, bringing people of all ages and experience levels together for one unforgettable city-centre performance.
You do not need to be a dancer to take part. Once registered, you’ll receive access to choreography and preparation materials, plus information about optional rehearsal opportunities leading up to the event.
Participants will come together on Saturday 31 October 2026 to perform as part of Carlisle’s Halloween celebrations.
Your registration includes:
Your place in the Big Thrill mass dance
Access to choreography/tutorial materials
Access to optional scheduled rehearsal opportunities
Participant updates and event information
Participation in the final Halloween performance
A participant gift, subject to final event plans
Who can take part?
Big Thrill is designed to be accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities. Children and young people are very welcome, although under-18s must be booked by a responsible adult and appropriate supervision requirements will apply.
What should I wear?
Halloween dress-up is encouraged but not compulsory. More detailed costume guidance will be sent to registered participants.
Where will it happen?
Carlisle city centre. The exact performance and meeting location will be confirmed to participants once event arrangements are finalised.
Tickets are non-refundable if you are unable to attend or change your mind. If Big Thrill is cancelled by Dance Ahead CIC, the ticket price paid will be refunded. This does not affect your statutory rights.

The event will take place in the Green Market area of Carlisle city centre, close to the Tourist Information Centre. Final participant meeting-point and arrival instructions will be emailed to registered participants before the event. Please allow extra time for city-centre access and parking on the day.
