Space @ The Salvation Army Cambridge NZ

Space for you and your baby @ The Salvation Army in Cambridge is a place where you can connect with other new parents & their babies as you explore parenting & children’s development in a safe, facilitated environment.

At The Salvation Army, we value family/whānau, parents & babies and are committed to lifelong learning in a safe, friendly environment. We seek to provide a forum for parents to share their experiences and an opportunity to consider different perspectives that are provided on various topics relevant to parenting and children’s development.

The sessions are run by facilitators who have knowledge and experience with babies and have carried out specific training in order to deliver the Space curriculum. The programme has a flexible structure so it is delivered in a way that best fits with the needs of our community and the culture of The Salvation Army.

Some of the topics we discuss include:

  • Sleeping, Feeding, Nutrition
  • Becoming a Parent & Establishing Attachment
  • The Beauty of the Brain
  • Expressing Myself
  • Treasure baskets & Heuristic Play
  • A Sense of Me & Others

Space @ The Salvation Army runs for 20 weeks during school terms. Families enrol and commit to attending that programme regularly. Babies joining a new Space session are generally between 2 weeks and 4 months of age and parents stay on session with their babies. If your baby’s age is not catered for in the group available you might be able to join an existing programme. Please contact Karen directly on 0274720920 or email karen.baker@salvationarmy.org.nz

To make a booking click on the desired programme below, click 'select', then 'proceed', then 'book now' and complete the details requested. If your baby is not born yet, please write TBA under baby's details - if you could include a due date for your baby, that would be helpful. The booking you make reserves your place for the duration of the programme.

The programme fee is $80 for 20 weeks. This amount is due two weeks after the start date of your group and we offer the following payment options to choose from:

  • Full payment via internet banking or through any branch of BNZ
  • Termly instalments of $40.00 at the beginning of each term (via BNZ, the internet or cash through our office onsite)

The programme fee is charged once per family, it is the same rate for twins or multiples. If you would like to discuss another payment option, please contact karen.baker@salvationarmy.org.nz

**Please note, as we are a smaller agency, we require a minimum number of participants for our courses to go ahead.
