Discovery Mine and Orokawa Loop Track

Passing the site of the Discovery Mine we learn about this little known early mining venture at Waihi Beach before continuing up the Waihi Beach Stream. We cross the stream a few times and then continue past waterfalls. A 10 minute ascent leads to views over the Orokawa Reserve and then down another way to Orokawa Beach passing a nikau grove. We make our own way back to Waihi Beach via the Coastal Route.
