This workshops will focus primarily on seaweeds and we will be identifying and gathering a selection of tasty, edible seaweeds.
We will be taking a walk along Goodwick beach at super low tide, where we will explore the rocks, gathering and identifying around ten different seaweeds.
We will end the session going through the identification again, spend time seaweed tasting, looking at ways of preserving and using them, and eat some delicious foods prepared with seaweeds. For this last part of the workshop we will go to the village hall in Goodwick.
Participants will forage, discuss sustainable harvesting and methods of preparation to make the most of these tasty seasonal plants. Please bring a basket, a pair of scissors or small knife to gather your harvest, and please wear suitable shoes for going in and out of shallow water.
