The aim and design of this programme is to support practitioners with developing their subject knowledge as to the effective provision for mathematics learning.
This programme will support with developing understanding around:

  • the developmental progression in early mathematical concepts (Number patterns and structures)
  • what research tells us is effective with younger children in the learning and teaching of mathematics
  • pedagogical approaches and how they impact on learning and teaching mathematics

Programme Overview
Day 1: What does research tell us is effective about the learning and teaching of early number, Counting and Cardinality, Routines, Task 1.
Day 2: Task 1 Feedback, Comparison, Games, Task 2.
Day 3: Task 2 Feedback, Composition, Mathematical Communications: Mark Making, Task 3.
Day 4: Task 3 Feedback, How does high quality EY maths provision support a TfM approach, Action Planning and next steps.
