Drawing onto Clay Workshop

This is a 1 day workshop (10am-3pm). You will use the beautiful Cheshire countryside around our farm as inspiration. We will explore different techniques of drawing onto hand made clay plates.

You will spend the first hour exploring the countryside around our farm, collecting a variety of natural objects to draw from. On returning to the studio, you will be led through a series of drawing activities, exploring non-traditional ways of drawing onto paper and looking at how to create exciting marks that can be transferred onto clay.

Break/Lunch

You will then roll out clay slabs and use forms to create 2 plates. Alison will then guide you in experimenting with tools and slip to re-create drawings onto the clay. Once dry, plates will be fired and glazed in transparent glaze, ready for collection in 2-3 weeks.
