Online start date as shown above or as agreed with your Cambium Associate Trainer. Online sessions are then available for a period of up to 60 days from the start date. Most trainees should expect to allow an average of 20 hours online (including three mandatory online group tutorials with your Cambium Associate Trainer) and in reflective practice during this period.

Level 2 qualification is subject to satisfactory completion of online learning, all tutorials and practical experience, and the completion of a satisfactory workbook.

Essential prerequisite
You must have made arrangements with a Cambium Associate Trainer before booking. If you have not made arrangements, or if you need help finding your local Trainer, please contact Cambium for assistance: info@cambiumsustainable.co.uk. The Trainer will agree with you the remaining cost of the course and deal with any other questions.

Payment for the deposit and registration fee is made online at the time of booking - if you require an invoice before booking please email info@cambiumsustainable.co.uk before proceeding.

  • Initial deposit and registration fee chargeable at time of booking: £120 + VAT = £144.
  • Remaining course cost will be invoiced by your Cambium Associate Trainer when you commence the course - please check the full course cost with the Trainer as this can vary due to location and other factors.

Entry Qualifications Required
Aged 16 years or over.
Level 1 qualification or equivalent (1 GCSE).
Current DBS Check.
A suitable First Aid qualification is useful to complement this course.

Content summary

  • Understanding the benefits and risks of using the outdoors as a learning environment.
  • Learning how to make an holistic approach to implementing outdoor learning – getting everyone ‘on board’ with your plans.
  • Planning & delivering seasonal outdoor learning by building specific skills and confidence in a range of areas that can be developed / enhanced in school grounds and in the local environment.
  • Linking to the curriculum
  • Knowing how to sustainably manage and improve outdoor learning environments, looking at ecological structures in the natural environment, identifying species in our own local natural environments.
  • Looking at the wider context of learning in the natural environment and making plans to use your local natural and built environment in curriculum delivery.
