Refresher Designated Safeguarding Lead Training

Safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children is undoubtedly one of the most important aspects of every schools and early years settings. The consequences of inadequately trained staff and volunteers, ineffective safeguarding policies and procedures can be devastating for all involved.

As the Designated Safeguarding Lead you are the main point of contact within school for advice and support for staff members, pupils, families and multi-agencies. Therefore, it is not only essential that your knowledge of child protection procedures is in-depth and up to date, it is a statutory requirement that your knowledge and skills are updated at regular intervals, but at least annually, to keep up with any developments relevant to their role.

This 3-hour session aims to bring DSL's up to date with any changes in legislation and best practice since their main DSL training, as well as looking at current specific safeguarding area e.g. CSE, CME, HSB, including guidance around the DfE December 2017 Sexual violence and sexual harassment between children in schools and colleges.

Who is this training for?

Experienced Designated and Deputy Safeguarding Leads who have attended the full day DSL course, within the past two years.

How much does the training cost?

£60 per attendee

Do I get a certificate?

Yes, all successful participants will receive a certificate of participation after evidencing their understanding of the course content.
