Giving carers more energy to care - exploring easy options for healthy changes & developing your capacity to care.

Centre for Integral Health are pleased to be able to offer 10 live sessions for carers to explore healthy compliments to their care role. Working in partnership with Reaching Wider: North & Mid Wales Partnership (RWNMWP) to support both paid and voluntary carers to manage and improve their own mental and physical health and well-being.
Participants will take part in a number of exploratory sessions of complementary therapy and alternate wellbeing perspectives designed to promote and support both their own mental and physical well-being, as well as their charges they care for.

These sessions will teach attendees how to practice the techniques at home and it is anticipated some of the benefits will be immediate. The techniques practised during the programme will be aimed at; promoting a sense of calm, reducing anxiety, breaking down barriers, increasing joy and happiness, improving motivation and problem solving, assisting the healing process and reducing pain.

The programme will also provide an insight on the career opportunities available in complementary therapy and the possible entry routes including UCAS accredited courses in complementary therapies. Glyndwr University will help anyone interested in further education details.

The practitioners delivering the sessions will be filmed as part of the project and the sessions made available on demand on our YouTube channel as a toolkit for service users suffering with anxiety, low self-esteem or low mood.

It is anticipated the programme will give adults new strategies to improve their health and well-being. Carers will benefit from the sessions so they can continue to practice as a family at home. Expected outcomes include improved concentration, reduction in anxiety, increased confidence, a greater ability to cope with stress and anxiety and the new awareness within the modality to help others.

All sessions are fully funded and carers from outside the Flintshire/Deeside/Wrexham area are also welcome to register.
The course will be subject to minimum numbers of carers from the target area signing up.

Across Wales there are 370,000 carers who, unpaid, support a loved one who is older, disabled or seriously ill.

Carers across Wales provide 96% of care and as our loved ones are living longer with illness or disability, more and more of us will be looking after them.

Whether you care around-the-clock or for a few hours a week, in your own home or for someone at the other end of a motorway – caring can have a huge effect on lives and a person's plans.

Caring is such an important part of life. It’s simply part of being human. Carers are holding families together, enabling loved ones to get the most out of life, making an enormous contribution to society and saving the economy billions of pounds.

Yet many carers are stretched to the limit – juggling care with work and family life, or even struggling with poor health themselves.

Every day 6,000 people become carers. Many don’t know how or where to get help. It can be frightening and very lonely.

For some it’s sudden: someone you love is taken ill or has an accident, your child is born with a disability. For others, caring creeps up unnoticed: your parents can’t manage on their own any longer, or maybe your partner’s health gets gradually worse.

Looking after someone can be tough, most carers feel completely alone.

Carers’ struggle to acknowledge their own health and wellbeing, to take care of and prioritise themselves

Carers face social isolation and loneliness - peer support and social contact are a lifeline.

We want to help to change that.

Sessions will run on a weekly basis each Wednesday from 6pm - 7.30pm

Al sessions will be available a few days after their live date on our On Demand YouTube channel. A link for this will be provided after you have registered.

Each session will be uploaded within a few days of the live presentation. This can then be played back as many times as desired and will become a resource for on-going self support.

Wear comfortable clothing for gentle movement and ensure the temperature around you is comfortable.
Ensure there is enough space to not touch walls or objects at arms length around you if at all possible for any movement based aspects of the sessions.

We advise that you have a comfortable space to sit and move as some of the sessions will invite participation in various ways. You may opt out of any aspects of a session that don't suit you.

You may wish to have a note pad or journal and pen handy to make any notes on the sessions.

Integral Health cannot take liability for your conduct at home so please only participate within your own limits and contact us or your doctor if you have any concerns prior to practising.
