Well-developed vocabulary is required to:
• Understand concepts in subjects such as maths and science
• Develop reading comprehension
• Write expressively
• Succeed academically and in life
This course guides participants through a systematic, whole-school approach to actively developing pupils’ vocabulary. It is full of practical and inspiring ideas that can be easily applied by busy classroom practitioners to develop both spoken and written vocabulary. Course participants will have resources and ideas to apply immediately.
This course is suitable for SENCOs, class teachers, specialist teachers, curriculum co-ordinators, head teachers, speech and language therapists and educational psychologists.
