Tutor: Lynsey Smiles has always had a passion for clay and creativity and loves to share her skills. She is keen to inspire the makers of tomorrow by supporting them to explore their own ideas and help them realise them in clay. She enjoys making whimsical models and practical pottery using a variety of materials and techniques and loves nothing more than a cup of tea out of a hand thrown mug.
Design a whimsical building using wheel throwing and hand building techniques to bring it to life.
The pottery will be left at the Centre to dry and then these will be fired to bisque.
All final firings and bisqueware will be able to pick up approx. 2 weeks after the session. We will send an email out once the pieces are ready, with any available dates/timeslots for pick up.
You can go on to paint these at home if you choose to introduce colour.
TIP: If painting bisqueware at home, we recommend using acrylic paint!
Please note, these workshops will need a minimum of 6 attendees to run. If the minimum subscription is not reached, the class will unfortunately not go ahead.
In the event of cancellation, we will notify the bookers email up to 4 days before the event.
No need to bring anything with you, but be aware that clay dust gets EVERYWHERE! It will wash off no problem when you get home.
Thank you for booking a class at Forgan Arts Centre, we look forward to seeing you soon!
