APPROACHES TO PORTRAITURE IN LIFE DRAWING

Join Artist Jen Robson for a day exploring approaches to drawing the portrait. Learn how to capture a likeness of a live sitter using traditional drawing techniques, demonstrated by Jen, focusing on structure, alignment, tone, line, style and expression.
Jen will be using graphite, charcoal and pastel, join her with this materials list

Rubber
Putty rubber
Staedtler Graphite pencils 6b or up.
Inscribe soft pastels half sticks box of 64 colours
Or bring along your favourite materials to experiment.
Jen Robson is from Dundee, and is DJCAD graduate who works from her home studio in Fife. She makes visceral drawings and paintings based on the human figure. Life drawing informs her practice, as she uses the body as a vessel to explore, respond to, and express the human experience.

To keep you, your fellow class members and our and tutors safe please note the following
Wear a facemask in class to protect you, our tutors and staff and other class attendees.
Wash/sanitise your hands before and during classes and after using equipment which is not your own
If you are showing symptoms of covid , (temperature, persistent cough or loss of taste or smell) or are isolating , you should not attend class.
Follow our distancing recommendations and any other guidance given by our staff and tutors
By booking a course with us online it is deemed you have read and agreed to the above, plus any that are brought in to manage the risk of Covid virus infection whilst the courses are running. We will keep these conditions under constant review in line with current advice and guidance that emerges and advise you of any changes.

Measures we will continue to put in place to make FAC as safe as possible:
· Ensuring that there is sufficient ventilation in the Centre
· Providing sanitiser / signage / introducing online booking
· Encouraging the uptake of vaccination in staff and tutors ( as per Scottish Government advice to businesses )
· Allowing for appropriate physical distancing in classes
· Encouraging people with specific concerns to come and discuss these with FAC
· Carrying out a Full Risk Assessment of the Centre to reduce the risk of infection
Cancellations Refunds - can be issued up to 2 weeks before classes begin, minus a £10 booking fee. No refunds can be offered for non-attendance . If a course is cancelled by the Centre due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be issued with a full /pro- rata refund.
