Gilli is a freelance illustrator who has over 10 years experience working as a lecturer in further education and has also tutored art classes and workshops in different environments. The Youths Art and Illustration classes are for anyone aged between 8 and 14 years old who has an interest in art and design. Gilli will introduce fun creative activities including portrait drawings, still life artwork, designing and mark making using a variety of basic techniques including drawing, painting, collage, mixed media artwork. Playing with different art materials and encouraging the students to have fun will help to create imaginative works of art.

We also have a Youths art & Illustration on a Monday night

*Please note, this class will need to meet minimum numbers to run and may have to be cancelled should it not reach this minimum. We will advise you with as much notice as possible in this situation.

Limited materials are available at the Centre for shared use, but if the children already have an art box with art materials such as below, please bring that with you.

• Graphite pencils
• Colour Pencils
• Colour Pens
• Paints - gouache and acrylic.
• Paint Brushes
• Oil Pastels
• Chalk Pastels
• Charcoal
• Ruler
• Eraser/Putty Rubber
• Pencil sharpener
• Pritt Stick
• Sketchbook or cartridge paper - minimum A4 size
• Selection of Papers - newspapers, magazines, tissue papers, tracing paper.


If travelling by car, please park at Waterstone crook car park and make your way up to the centre. We have limited parking at the Centre which is reserved for blue badge holders and those with limited mobility only.

Refunds - can be issued up to 2 weeks before classes begin, minus a £20 booking fee.
No refunds can be offered for non-attendance .
If a course is cancelled by the Centre due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be issued with a full /pro- rata refund.

Please be advised that the road leading up to the property is privately owned and maintained by another landowner, and that the streets surrounding the Centre are owned and maintained by Fife Council. The safety of visitors to Forgan Arts Centre is important to us, so please be careful on your travels by foot or transport.

Tea and coffee is available at the Centre. If attending a day long course or workshop, please bring a packed lunch. We do not have a café.
