The course will include progressive instruction in the technical skills required when using oil paint, the blocking-in of basic structural form in addition to the use of tone, colour and mark-making to achieve a believable representation.
This will be a creative, stimulating and rewarding workshop, offering you the skills to broaden your portrait painting experience and to continue an ongoing development.
Day 1: Working from reference images/photos. This will include a visual deconstruction of the head, observing components that lead to successful painting. Students may bring their own images for this first day, or use images supplied by the tutor.
