Campfire WILD

Lets go to the woods!

Campfire WILD - Forest School & Outdoor Activities

Welcome to the Campfire WILD page. A trained Forest School practitioner, I am inspired by spending time in the woods. I am WILD about nature; bugs and beasts, mud, trees, tales. Building camps and campfire cooking are the things that make my heart sing! Not to mention woodland crafts and whittling a stick for cooking damper bread or marshmallows!

Forest School is a way of learning, which takes place in a natural environment where children are enabled to follow their own interests. With Campfire WILD all children can benefit from learning the Forest School way and it can be a wonderful opportunity for those that don't shine in the classroom to learn in a way that doesn't feel like ‘work’. Forest School promotes independence, resilience, confidence, creative and critical thinking, and so much more.

There is a growing body of research telling us that time spent outdoors is great for our sense of wellbeing and can make us more productive. It is no coincidence that when we started going to the woods as a family, we would come home feeling tired and relaxed, having made new discoveries from exploring the natural environment. Every time we venture out, we find and learn something new! In nature, learning never stops.

Why not come and join us at Campfire WILD for one of our monthly activity days? Come and re-connect with nature, family and friends around the campfire. Dates soon to be confirmed.

Campfire WILD activity days will be held at Dyehouse Field Wood in the Lower Woodland. Dyehouse Field Wood is one of Lavenham’s best kept secrets! Locally funded by the community and planted as an extension to the Lavemnham Railway Walk. A perfect spot for a a picnic amongst the flora and fauna.
Give our Facebook page a ‘like’ if you would like regular updates and check back for monthly activities!
