Clerk and Officers Update

These sessions, for local council employees, are relatively informal and are designed for information sharing and networking. Topical subjects are introduced, occasionally by external expert speakers. You will also have time to raise own issues and questions and given a forum for discussion, problem-solving and support.

This particular session will focus on current topical issues:

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

• What the Council's duty is as an employer
• Other key employment updates

Devolution and Local Government Reorganisation

• An update on what we know so far
• What parish and town councils can do to prepare:
• Community Governance Reviews
• What options and opportunities could be available
• Working with other local parishes, shared services
• Devolving assets: what you need to consider.

Simpler Recycling - New Waste Duties

• What councils need to do in preparation.

The programme will conclude with the usual Q&A Session , and it is a great opportunity to network with the HALC team, and other Clerks and Officers.
