NQT Training and Support Programme
4 x full-day and 4 x half-day sessions
Aimed at: Primary NQT’s

Our NQT Training and Support Programme includes a balance of initial core training days moving towards tailored training sessions on a range of topics and in a range of in-school settings matched to individual NQTs. The training follows a coherent progression through the Teachers Standards, including a range of gap tasks aimed at consolidating good teaching practice and professional conduct. The training also scheduled support opportunities for NQTs and their in-school mentors to complete the Induction process, assess their progress and trouble-shoot common problems.
The course will be facilitated by Andrew Crosby, Clare Goodall and Tania Cotton with a range of guest presenters from different schools across the Alliance.

Day 1 - 13th September 2018, Beechwood Junior School, 9:00am – 4:00 pm: Welcome reception and core training on behaviour, expectations, positive relationships and professionalism. Gap task.

Day 2 - 16th October 2018, Beechwood Junior School, 9:00am – 4:00pm:
core training on English and Maths subject knowledge, planning and teaching for mastery and progression. Gap task.

Day 3 - 28th November 2018, Beechwood Junior School, 9:00am – 4:00pm:
core training on assessment/AfL, progress and inclusion. Gap task.

Day 4 - 21st - 25th January 2019 - various locations, 9.00am - 12.00pm:
facilitated visits to a range of schools with a range of focus topics - To be agreed on day 3

Day 5 - 7th February 2019, Beechwood Junior School, 9:00am – 4:00pm:
elective workshops on a range of focus topics according to needs identified by NQTs and their in-school mentors. Gap task.

Day 6 - 14th March 2019, Beechwood Junior School, 1:00pm – 5:00pm:
Network Support Meeting and guidance for self-assessment for NQT Assessment 2

Day 7 - 9th May, 2019, Beechwood Junior School, 1:00pm – 5:00pm:
elective workshops on a range of focus topics according to needs identified by NQTs and their in-school mentors. Gap task.

Day 8 - 13th June, 2019, Beechwood Junior School, 1:00pm – 5:00pm:
core training on wider professional responsibilities, and career development; guidance for self-assessment for NQT Assessment 3

The course will be facilitated by Andrew Crosby and SLE’s from across the alliance.
