Spelling Programme
1 x full-day core training, 1 x in-school research task and 1 x half-day sharing event

Aimed at: Experienced English teachers and English Leaders at KS1 and KS2

The spelling content within the national curriculum contributes significantly to pupils’ success in writing. The transition and progression between phonics and spelling requires careful planning and secure subject knowledge. Many schools report that ‘making sure that there is a consistent approach to spelling across the whole school’ and ‘the application of spelling rules into written work and applying rules to other words,’ are key areas where they would benefit from further support. This workshop will help English Leaders and experienced English teachers to participate in a research-based course that aims to improve pupils’ achievement in spelling across a whole school or within a single phase or year group.

The programme will run in conjunction with our Spelling Research Project
