RIGHT TO RESIDE (contd.) & THE EFFECTS OF BREXIT

Aims
This module analyses the remaining Right to Reside categories and also considers how benefits rules are effected by Brexit.

Objectives
By the end of the module participants will:
• Be able to recognise when an EEA national is eligible for means tested benefits because they have a derivative right to reside or a qualifying right to reside as a family member;
• Understand how the EU Settlement Scheme operates and how benefits are affected by settled and pre-settled status;
• Have gained an awareness of how benefits rules are affected by Brexit during the transition period and beyond.

Methods of delivery
This module is delivered online live with a BTC trainer. It is a practical module delivered using a combination of trainer presentation, exercises and case studies, group discussion and games. Participants will be provided with e-learning supporting material including PowerPoint slides and a comprehensive training pack.

Intended audience
This module is for staff working with non-British European nationals. Participants should first attend Benefits for EEA nationals (1): Introduction and overview and Benefits for EEA nationals (2): The Habitual Residence Test before attending this module.

Certificate and post course support
You will receive an e-certificate for each module you complete. To be eligbile for access to our free 12 months post-course advice service (including monthly webinars) you will need to complete four BTC online course modules. Although we advise completing Parts 1-4 of this course, you can combine any 4 parts of any BTC course for access to support.

What you will need
