The goals of the session are to understand:
• why Oxford has an ethics review system for research projects involving human participants and personal data;
• what research is reviewed by the Interdivisional Research Ethics Committee for the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH IDREC);
• common ethical issues which arise in relation to University policy; and
• how to write an application for ethical approval.
The session is suitable for graduate students and especially early career research staff, as well as e.g. research facilitators.
