Details

Mental Health First Aid for Seniors is an evidence-based training by the Mental Health Commission of Canada designed for people who have frequent contact with older adults such as family members, friends, community health workers and volunteers.

Sponsored by the Alberta Government to support the mental health of Alberta's aging population.

Learn to recognize and effectively respond to an emerging mental health problem or crisis in older adults.

  • Recognize the symptoms as they develop
  • Provide initial help when dealing with a mental health problem or crisis
  • Guide a senior and/or caregiver toward appropriate professional help
  • Provide strategies and resources to support both seniors and their caregivers
