BD U21 International Squad Viewing 2019

Initial viewing day for the 2019-20 season squads at Pony, Children-on-Horses, Junior and Young Rider levels.

The day is open to all BD Youth riders at their relevant age level and subject to meeting minimum criteria to be considered for selection. This information can be found in the 2019/20 Selection criteria document attached.

International squad members will be selected based on their performance and future potential as a European Team candidate. A programme of ongoing training and support will be offered to successful candidates, together with the potential for self-funded international competition subject to minimum qualifying scores.

Candidates will ride though either the FEI Pony/CoH/Junior or Young Rider Team Test under test conditions in front of an FEI Judge and the U21 Selectors. Riders (and parents where appropriate) will be required to also attend a group talk from the Chef d'Equipes, and a short individual meeting with their relevant Chef.

The over-riding aim of the BD U21 International Squad is to select teams to represent GB at the relevant Youth European Championships.

Eligibility must be shown on the Booking Form - this will be checked against current BD records. Those failing to meet the criteria will be informed by the BD International Officer as soon as is practicably possible.

2019 European Team members or individuals and reserves will be automatically re-squadded at their current age level. If they do not wish to be included in the 2019/20 Squad programme, they MUST inform the BD International Officer by email by 8th September 2019. Riders moving up an age group must attend viewing as a new combination.
