London: Little Fashion Creatives (6 - 9 yrs)

Design & Create your own sustainable Character Bag!
Learn about sustainability in fashion whilst creating your own original character bag! Choose which character then combine different techniques and deadstock designer and Liberty fabric scraps to make something truly unique and fashionable! You will use your unique creativity and imagination to design your bags and when given a selection of specifically chosen offcuts and scrap fabrics from your tutor, who will help you make your design come alive!

Week 1: Start designing! Become a fashion designer, look at your fabric options and bag shapes, and start illustrating your unique design!
Week 2: Finish designs, choose your chosen bag and cut out base fabrics for bags Week 3: Learn techniques and start on bag
Week 4-6: Continue using techniques on bag Week 7-9: Construct bag, adding straps and extras Week 10-12: Finish bag and start bag accessories

Some of the specific skills include:
Zero-waste sustainable customisations, heat press customisation, embroidery, hand sewing buttons, and inserting elastic!

What we provide:
Expert tuition, from practicing pattern cutters, fashion designers etc. who have degrees in relevant art and fashion courses.
The use of new and fully serviced Janome 725s sewing machines, scissors, tools and threads etc.
Students can use free donated fabrics as part of our Circularity Bank, bring in their own or buy from our fabric shop.

At the end of term they will come home with:
Design sheets, sustainable fabric awareness and technical sewing samples.
A completed garment and/or accessory designed and made by them.
Certificate of completion (over 80% attendance).

Covid-19 Safety Protocol:
All tutors will wear a mask as part of our 1m + rule if 2m isn’t possible.
Your child will have their own fashion work station with all equipment, machinery, chair, table etc sanitised before each class.
