Timeline for the weekend

Friday 1pm Arrive in Rotorua
Get settled, group ride in the Redwoods then dinner and beer tasting with Yeastie Boys! During this first ride we will get to know each other, go over the basics and sort out groups for the rest of the weekend’s riding.

Small group skills courses (6 max in each group). After lunch will head to the back of the forest for shuttles! The day will finish off with gourmet dinner at Good Eastern!

Focus on manoeuvres (think wheel lifts, manuals and wheelies), followed by a group ride and a skills session on jumps and drops at Skyline!  After lunch we’ll depart Rotorua at 2pm.

What we'll be covering
For this multi day camp, we’ll be splitting into 2 groups based on ability and experience (indicated on your registration form).

One group will be more Intermediate - thing Grade 3 trails

The other will be more Advanced - happy on Grade 4 trails, looking to ride Grade 5.

We’ll be covering a large range of mountain bike skills through out the weekend including: body position, cornering, braking efficiency, pressure control (pumping), steeps, roots, small drops and jumps.

Rider Level - 2 Levels One Camp
This camp is great for guys that have been riding for a few years, feel confident on grade 3 and maybe some 4 trails but have been stuck at the same level for a while. We will be starting small and increasing the spicyness throughout the weekend. You should be comfortable riding 3 hours+ on grade 3+  trails to really enjoy this camp.

For the Intermediate Group

  • In Wellington: if you are getting to the top of Makara Peak and mainly heading down Peak Flow and looking to hit up some of the harder tracks, or perhaps you have given the likes of like North Face, Ridge Line, Mt Vic Super D and 491 at Wainuiomata a go, but it felt a bit sketchy.

..or In Rotorua: if you love Corners, Eagle vs Shark and the Challenge Block, maybe you give the likes of Billy T and Hot Cross Buns a go, or you ride them but not as well as you'd like and you want to hit the native and harder trails, then this is the camp for you.

For the Advanced Group, you will be looking to ride trails like 491/Spoonhill, Vertigo, Borderline, V and Rockdrop in Wellington and the likes of Hot Cross, Tumeke, Te Ahi Manawa and the Rocky Horror trails in Rotorua.

This camp is open to riders 18 years or older.

Note that this camp operates on minimum numbers.

**Within each weekend camp we will split into groups based on ability so everyone has a someone of equal radness to ride with for the weekend.
