Seed Sowing Workshop - CRAIG-Y-NOS, SWANSEA

Would you like to learn how to grow your own cut flowers or vegetables from seed? Have you tried before, but without much success? Do you love sowing seeds and would like a couple of hours doing some seed sowing and relaxation in beautiful scenery?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop could be for you! We will talk you through all the basics and do some practical sowing together. You will also sow your own creation to take home and nurture, as well as receive a selection of other seeds too.

This workshop is running as an individual workshop, but is also the first session of our 4 week Vegetable Growing Course. If you would like information on the full course and what the four sessions entail, please look at the booking titled 'Vegetable Growing Course - Craig-Y-Nos' or click here:

During the workshop, we will cover:

  • taking time to connect with our surroundings
  • how to absorb yourself into the moment of sowing seeds
  • an introduction in to different types of compost and soil
  • how select the right seeds for you to grow, both mentally and physically
  • how to select the right pots for your seeds
  • how to sow and nurture your different seedlings successfully
  • a tour of the vegetable garden.

Just like us, different seeds need different conditions to thrive, so I will go through a range of seed choices and varieties including flowers and vegetables.

You will leave hopefully full of knowledge and a bit more confident and relaxed.

The workshop includes all materials, light refreshments, comprehensive notes, a tour of the vegetable garden and plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

This workshop takes places outdoors at our garden within Craig-Y-Nos Country Park. Group size - 8 people.

Life at No.27 is a social enterprise and 10% of your ticket price goes towards our community wellbeing work.

Please bring gardening gloves and suitable clothing depending on the weather on the day. If you don't have your own gloves, don't worry as I can provide these for you.
