Enfield Chase was once a vast royal forest stretching north from the City of London. It has steadily been enclosed, converted to farmland, parkland or urbanised. Hear how Enfield Council’s Watercourses team are implementing a combination of natural flood management and rewilding measures to improve wildlife habitats and the visitor experience.
Ian Russell is Principal Engineer, Enfield Council’s Watercourses Team. He is also the main author of Urban Wetland Design Guide and has played a pioneering role in the creation of “constructed wetlands”.
