Details

Bar Modelling is a key feature of a teaching for mastery curriculum, providing pupils with a clear, visual representation to aid their understanding of maths problems.

PROGRAMME

This course offers the opportunity to unwrap the potential of Bar Modelling and will explore the use of it through the primary key stages. Understanding the model across year groups will ensure that those attending can have confidence in applying the technique to any one year group. This practical, problem-solving session will provide attendees with many opportunities to try it out for themselves.
Whilst Bar Modelling complements a teaching for mastery approach, it is not essential that you are using this approach in your school to benefit from this powerful concept.

PARTICIPANTS

This programme is ideal for any primary teacher wanting to gain confidence in the use of Bar Modelling. In particular, those with responsibility for leading maths in their school will benefit from the cross Key Stage approach of this programme.
