CLASS STARTS AT 9:00am. Dates of class Monday 26/03/2018 Tuesday 27/03/2018 Wednesday 28/03/2018 Thursday 29/03/2018 Monday 02/04/2018 Tuesday 03/04/2018 Wednesday 04/04/2018 Thursday 05/04/2018. NFQ Level 4.

This course is equally suited to people already working in the cycle industry who want an internationally recognised qualification or keen cyclists interested in taking their maintenance or bike building skills to the next level. All training takes place in our training centre on Francis street.

SOCIAL WELFARE TRAINING ALLOWANCE:

This course is approved by the Social Welfare ‘Back To Work Allowance Scheme’. For more see their site http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/353_Back-to-Education-Allowance.aspx or call your local SW office. As the bike industry in Ireland is flourishing there are opportunities within this field for certified bike mechanics. We are happy to assist those on this work scheme in attaining a place on this course.

COURSE CONTENT OVERVIEW:

Unit 1: Introduction, Health & Safety, Parts of a Bike, Workshop Etiquette, Tyres, Tubes & Puncture Repair Unit 2: Remove and Replace a Cycle Rim Brake Assembly Unit 3: Transmission – Remove & Replace a Cycle Gear Assembly Unit 4: Service Cycle Hubs, cup & cone and sealed cartridge Unit 5: Servicing Headset Assemblies including frame preparation Unit 6: Service Bottom Bracket & Cranks including frame prep Unit 7: Wheel Building Unit 8: Wheel Building Cont’d Unit 9: Augment a Cycle & Systematic Cycle Check Unit 10: Strip and Rebuild, Full change of a cycle frame
