Details

Whether you wish to improve your flexibility for dance, sporting activities, or general fitness and well-being, this class will help you to strengthen your muscles and increase your range of movement.

We will use a mix of exercises from contortion and yoga to improve your posture and alignment, and ultimately achieve greater overall flexibility in your body.

What to expect from the class?

  • exercises for upper back strength and flexibility
  • lower back
  • hamstrings exercises (preparation for split)
  • hip rotation and hip opening (middle split)
  • breathing techniques in back bends (wheel, cobra, seal pose)
  • advanced back bends.
  • understand how to stretch and relax different muscle groups
  • Increase the range of motion in the main joints
  • improve your dance ability (if this is your goal)

There are easier and advanced variations for every person and so your current ability is not an issue. Whether you are just starting flexibility training, want to get back to flat splits you once had, or struggling with your back bends, this course will have plenty of tips and tricks to get you there with regular practice!

What do you need?
-a yoga mat (available tkk maxx)
-a towel
-water
-yoga block (available tkk maxx)
-good mood, energy and patience

Homework may be given for between classes (different exercises depending on each person's body).

Please note: the studio is in an old industrial building and can be cold in winter- please bring layers such as jumper, leg warmers etc

Level: Advanced, Intermediate, Improver & Beginner

Instructions

We ask you to please read and follow the following new guidance for attending classes at Skytribe studio:

-Arrive no more than 5 minutes before class is due to start and leave swiftly at the end of your session
-Use hand sanitiser on arrival to the studio
-Where possible come dressed ready for class and only use the changing room if unavoidable
-Remember to maintain social distancing throughout the venue and keep exits clear for students leaving the class before yours
-Do not attend class if you experience any symptoms of Covid19 and follow government guidance regarding self-isolation
