Details

We'd like to introduce our new series of "Stomping Grounds for Big Kids Fundraiser" events, which encourage adults to reconnect with their inner child, with the natural world and with each other whilst supporting us to raise money for Stomping Grounds community work.

We kick off this exciting new venture with a Samhain event hosted by Malcolm Green, a North Eastern storyteller who uses the natural environment and folklore to inspire, move and deepen connections within his participants.

31st October at sunset marks the start of the Gaelic Samhain festival, celebrating the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.

During this event you will explore the folklore and stories that connect humans with harvest and the changing of the seasons.

Carolin will be on hand to keep the fire burning, to support you to feel comfortable and to provide hot drinks and a campfire snack.

By purchasing tickets for these events you are helping us to raise money to support our community work across the North East.

In line with our commitment to Positive Action, there are 5 free spaces available for this session. It is our intention that those spaces are used by people who have been previously excluded from outdoor experiences - low income families, those who experience racism, member of LGBTQ+ communities, disabled people and women. For more information on our Positive Action programme, or this series of events, please email Carolin@stomping-grounds.org or phone 07908473506.

This event is aimed at adults. Young people aged 14+ may attend, but all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

You can visit https://www.stomping-grounds.org/policies-and-procedures/ to see a copy of our Covid-19 policy, but in summary these are the measure we'll be taking to keep everyone safe:

Minimising contact with individuals who are unwell by ensuring that those who have coronavirus(COVID-19) symptoms, or who have someone in their household who does, do not attend any Stomping Grounds sessions.
Cleaning hands more often than usual - washing hands thoroughly for 20 seconds with running water and soap and dry them thoroughly.
Ensuring good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach
Cleaning frequently touched surfaces and shared equipment often using standard products before and after each session and between each use

We want to ensure we're delivering forest school that reflects our values and best meets the needs of everyone who attends. As such, we evaluate all of our provision and want your voice to be heard. You'll shortly receive an email invitation to complete a short survey and would really appreciate your participation.
