Details

After two successful supper clubs so far in 2017, Stories & Supper is now poised to take over the Hornbeam Cafe on Saturday nights in October. With a different chef each week, the team will bring you our signature blend of global cuisine and stories about migration from the people making the journeys.

In the intimate setting of the Hornbeam you will be served a delicious three course vegetarian menu. You will also hear first hand about refugee experiences of leaving home through stories, poetry and music – a rare opportunity to find out about the lives behind the headlines.

Shanaz will be your chef on 7th October and will bring you her signature Hyderabad cuisine.

On 14th October we will take you on a journey through Syrian food.

21st October will introduce you to Burmese and Bangladeshi fusion food created by local chefs Mariam and Tasnim.

And 28th October will see the return of our Sudanese chef Hawari.

What previous diners have said...

"Moving, humbling, tasty, intoxicating night"

"The standard of the meal was superlative!"

"It demonstrated the personal stories behind the generalisations."

The tickets from our events raise about half the money we need to keep going. The supper is the end result of a process which includes English language support, food safety training, project coordination, storytelling workshops, mentoring and more. We are busy applying for funding, but if you'd like to support our work further please make a donation. Thank you.
