About your tutor: Jodie Glen-Martin

Hi, I’m Jodie, a creative with a passion for colour and pattern.

My career started in conservation working on historic artworks and monuments before moving on to Tate where my focus changed to contemporary art.

During this time I was also painting and quilting, with my background inspiring me to combine historic techniques with contemporary design and materials. For the past 10 years, I have painted to commission and exhibited across the UK and never looked back……until Lockdown.

In Lockdown with exhibitions cancelled my creativity was deflected to my collection of Liberty fabric and the beautiful outgrown children’s clothes. My lifelong hobby of patchwork quilting grew into an obsession. When even the cat had a patchwork cushion I started Threadheads, a beginners quilting group, to share my passion around my kitchen table. It became so popular I had to turn people away so I am thrilled to join The Fashion School to introduce my skills to a wider number of people and help you reach your personalised creative milestones.
